What we collect

When a tutor uploads a lesson recording, we store the audio file, the transcript we generate from it, and the analysis we derive (corrections, vocabulary, exercises). We also store the email address used to sign in and basic profile information for tutors and their students.

Why we collect it

Recordings and transcripts are processed to produce the lesson analysis the tutor and student see. Email addresses are used to authenticate sign-in and to deliver lesson-recap emails when a student opts in.

Who can see your data

A student’s lesson is visible to that student and to the tutor who uploaded it. We do not sell data, and we do not use lesson content to train third-party models. Audio and transcripts are sent to AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, AssemblyAI) strictly to produce the analysis you see — providers process the content under their zero-retention or short-retention terms.

Where it lives

Mia is hosted in the EU (Paris). Recordings live in EU object storage; the database is also EU-resident.

Your controls

You can delete a lesson at any time, which removes the recording, transcript, and analysis. To delete your account or request an export of your data, email mia@miatutor.com.

Mia is pre-launch. This page describes our current practice and will be replaced by a full privacy policy before general availability.
